At dusk: an aperitivo on the terrace

At Fra le Righe, the aperitivo happens up on the terrace, at the edge of the pool.

A small table outside, two glasses, something to pick at while the city lowers its voice.

Sicilian tapas: small plates made with local ingredients — cheeses, preserves, Pachino tomatoes, olives, fresh bread. To drink: something sparkling, a good glass of natural wine, or a Spritz.

The terrace is for guests only. Quiet, full of flowers, tucked in among the plants and the rooftops of Catania. Music in the background, whatever you prefer — if you want any at all.

It is not an event and it is not a buffet. It is simply a considered, uncomplicated way to begin — or to close — the evening.
